Is it true that american went to iraq for oil?

Yes but not really to get oil for US citizens as some wrongly thing (there was no interest in securing Iraqi oil for the betterment of US citizens). There were many factors involving oil. One was Saddam wanting to sell oil for Euros (something Ahmadinejad is wanting to do,see a pattern). One was insuring that the oil was controlled by those that could be counted on to play ball by US rules and one was Israeli oil supply.
