What kind of tires should I get for dodge dakota?

I have a Dodge Dakota Sport v6 2wd and the tires suck. I got stuck on a slick gravel driveway today and I did get out. But then later on I was driving on pavement and went up a steep slope, stopped at a stop sign, then accelereted and the tires spun out. I'm in washington state and winters get rainy/snowy. What tires do you recomend for good traction and how much are they? And were is the best place to purchase them?
