I'm getting fake lip piercings, should I use silver or surgical stainless steel?

Since my parents won't let me get my lip pierced for real, and the whole idea that when I'm older I might not want lip piercings, I'm going to buy some realistic looking fake ones. Searching the internet, I definitely want metal rather than plastic. I'm asking because I know that silver tarnishes, and I'd prefer not to have to clean it, but I'm not sure about the stainless steel in general.
