Is mount fuji in japan a vulcanian or a strombolian type of eruption?

Vulcanian. It's been 300 years since it erupted but, based on the way ash covered the surrounding cities, it sounds more like vulcanian which spews lots of ash high into the air as opposed to a strombolian eruption which is mostly a lot of lava.
