Nickname Matt for Emmett?

Im not pregnant, but i love planning for the future. the name emmett is growing on me, but it would be kind of weird when hes older, so i thought of using the nn matt that i got from the last part (Em-METT) mett -->matt. Anyways, do you think matt is a good and possible nn? and do you like the name emmett?
