Sprint HTC EVO Wi-Fi enabled?

I am considering getting an HTC EVO from Sprint. It has everything I'm looking for, and is saying that it is a "mobile hotspot for 8 Wi-Fi enabled devices" and says it's Wi-Fi enabled. Does this mean that if you're in a Wi-Fi access point, it will not charge you to use the internet on the phone?
