Can I tow my 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX (AWD) using a 'dolly' that keeps the front wheels off the ground?

I need to tow it on the highway. I was thinking of renting a dolly from U-Haul but I'm not sure if I'll damage the trans or diff by towing it. I heard something about a liquid coupling in the drive shaft that may help with this situation?
